Mathematics Education Concentration Recommended Schedule

Each concentration has 2 MAPs (Major Academic Plans); one for students who have completed MATH 113 (Start with EMC2) and those who have not (Start with Math 112).

Mathematics Education: EMC2

**This concentration is only recommended for students who have already completed Math 112 and Math 113**

● It is recommended that you take the classes highlighted in blue as part of the EMC2 program (see EMC2.byu.edu).

● To help lighten semester loads, you can take spring/summer classes for generals or MthEd 300, MthEd 362, SC ED 375, SC ED 353, CPSE 402, and STAT 121. Many math classes are offered Spring/Summer as well, if desired.

● Since this concentration does not require CS 235, ACME Major can count your EMC2 experience as your CS 111 credit, but it is normally recommended that you take CS 235 (with Prerequisite CS 111) before starting the Junior Core. However, taking CS 111 and CS 235 may not be manageable for this concentration.
